Many of my earlier cartoons where made on a whim, and strangely enough
I never “gave up on” a movie for the longest time. However,
once I begin doing multiple movies at once, and started began doing
collaborations, many cartoons have been “put back on the shelf.”
Some of these projects are not cancelled, but it’s a big question
mark if they’re going to ever get finished.

Passion of the Pikmin - canceled |
When I got Pikmin 2 for the Gamecube,
I had the guilty pleasure of throwing my Pikmin into the water
and watching them squirm. (C’mon, you’ve all done
it.) And at the time, Passion of the Christ was still the
buzz.
“Passion of the Pikmin” was borderline a parody
of the crucifixion and torture of Jesus, and half a parody
of Pikmin the game. I was unsure of how to present it, because
I didn’t want it viewed as a religious statement, and
I didn’t want to be accused of making fun of the whole
ordeal. I still like the premise though.
In the story, the cruel overlord Olimar works
his Pikmin to the bone every single day…until one brave
yellow Pikmin stands up to him…. Only to suffer the
consequences.
I managed to animate about ¼ or 1/3
of the short cartoon before I began focusing on “Code
Veronica Flash Edition,” and over time the project kinda
died.

Code Veronica: The Game - canceled |
| Code Veronica Flash Edition began it’s life as a 3D
Flash game by Super Flash Bros. It was going to be a 1st and
3rd person action game, much like the PS2 game “Resident
Evil: Dead Aim.” But over time it turned into just a movie,
and then, Dim of Flash Bros left the project entirely. The engine
turned into the forthcoming “Perfect Kirby Game”
by John & Richie. |
The Code Veronica movie is basically all the cut scenes
that were planed for the game, but some were added after the
change, such as the zombie attack and the fight with the rubber
man. |
 |
The game had full 3-D Environments
ala the old DOOM games. Tom assured me the sprites
themselves could be full vector graphics, not bitmaps
like these.
|
 |
As you can see, there were some
bugs that had to be worked out. the rooms looked
a bit plain, but as the engine was getting more
complex, they begian adding stuff like doors, desks,
and plants.

I began drawing many Resident Evil
related monsters to put in the game. Even those
not in CV.

The Matrix Has You 3 - Limbo |
| When I first thought of “the Matrix Has You,”
it was originally planned to be 1 long movie wit about 8 or
so shorts. But soon I realized that was to big so I split it
up. After that the idea was to have it be a trilogy. And indeed
that was the plan. However after the 3nd was released, I decided
to take a break from it. And twice after that I began gathering
people. But “The Matrix” series popularity was dwindling.
And I had waited so long to begin the 3rd installment, then
titled “The Matrix Has You Yet Again,” that it would
only appeal to the fans who still regarded The Matrix with high
regards.
Normally that wouldn’t stop me, since my thought is
“Hey, I like the Matrix, so it’ll be fun.”
But I learned something from my “Code Veronica”
movie: Be careful with older parodies. When I made Code Veronica,
the popularity of Resident Evil was far less than it used
to be. I might have poked fu of CV’s little quirks,
but would people get it?
The Matrix is slightly different, and much more widespread
than a video game… but it no longer seemed appropriate.
I had ideas enough for 5 or so sorts, and had
animators willing to help, but very little was done with this
3rd installment. On my end, I was probably going to take on
the classic “Red Pill, Blue Pill” scene, while
a friend of mine was developing a script for the Highway Case
scene. All I have to show is this menu screen with the shorts
I was planning at the time. There are a couple of character
models for the other animators, but since they aren’t
mine, I won’t show them.

The collaboration is “On hold indefinably” …
but I always have a little bit of hope it’ll be made.
Some people have offered to take up the task of leading the
project, but it wouldn’t be the same for me unless I
had my hand in it.
